About this category

Event barriers: types and planning the runs

A crowd-control barrier has two jobs: to set the route and to take the pressure of people. The classic steel element is about two metres long and coupled into runs with hooks, so the whole line works as one structure. Accordion barriers fold out without coupling elements, which shortens setup on short closures.

The category covers concert-grade barriers with a reinforced frame, temporary galvanized steel barriers, accordion barriers, PVC versions, access corridors with control points, gates and evacuation passages set into the line, and covers and banners fitted to the enclosure.

Planning starts from the number of people and control points, not from the number of barriers. An entry run is split into lanes, evacuation passages must keep the required widths and directions, and wind-exposed barriers need larger feet or ballast.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How many barriers does an entrance need?
We calculate from the lane length and the number of control points. Large entrances use multi-lane corridors, which we confirm in the quotation.
Concert-grade or standard temporary?
Concert-grade has a reinforced frame and a step, so it goes in front of a stage and wherever real pressure builds. The standard type is enough for routes and zones.
Can an enclosure block an escape route?
No. The layout must preserve escape widths and directions, so we plan passages and gates together with the barrier run.

We will plan the enclosures for your event.

Send the run length, site conditions and deadline, and we will come back with a configuration and a quotation.
